Mechatronics & Mechanical Engineering

Mechantronic Engineers combine their understanding of mechanical, electrical and computer systems engineering to design, implement and maintain intelligent engineered systems such as automated production systems and products.

Mechatronics Engineering is a relatively new specialisation and is offered at the following Queensland universities.

Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics), The University of Queensland.
Bachelor of Infomechatronics Engineering, Queensland University of Technology.
Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronic), University of Southern Queensland.

Mechanical Engineers design and evaluate machines and mechanical processes. Mechanical Engineers in the minerals and energy sector may design, construct or maintain equipment for major projects such as power station turbines and large earthmoving machinery.

Mechanical Engineering is offered widely at universities throughout Queensland.

Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical), The University of Queensland.
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, Queensland University of Technology.
Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical), CQUniversity Australia.
Bachelor of Engineering (Co-op)/Diploma of Professional Practice (Engineering), CQUniversity Australia.
Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical), James Cook University.
Associate and Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical), University of Southern Queensland.

I am studying engineering at the University of Queensland. I enjoy surfing, partying (like every other uni student), judo and just hanging with friends. I grew up in Redcliffe, just a half hour north of Brisbane. I believe my engineering degree will definitely get me to extraordinary places and it is exciting to have so many opportunities available to excel my career.

After I graduated from Holland Park High School I realised that I had a keen interest in big machinery and thus, I began mechanical engineering at QUT. I plan on working in the resources sector where I feel my interest will be satisfied. Apart from uni I love doing anything related to the ocean or that gets me outdoors.

I spent the early years of my life in the metropolitan city of Hong Kong. I moved to Brisbane during my high school years and never looked back. I'm currently engaged in a Commerce & Engineering dual degree at UQ, majoring in Mechatronics. Loving the challenge. Because being an engineer in the mining industry represents more than just a rewarding career - it's about being the change you want to see in our world.
